Your fantasy football season is in make or break territory. The waiver offerings have been hit and miss so far this season, but it is getting close to the time when we need something to give us a spark. If you have gaps in your line-up or going to get hit hard by the bye week, don't be afraid to overpay for a 1 or 2 week fill-in. We really need to take a look at what bye weeks we are going to be short players. Half of the NFL has their bye within the next four weeks, with six teams on bye in Week 8.
It's sad to say, but injuries do make the waiver wire more interesting. We are not injury vultures, we wish those that are injured the best of luck, we are just playing a game and are looking to optimize our chances of winning.
Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Adds
Players We Can Drop
When we make waiver claims most of the time we can easily determine who to add, but we struggle with which players to drop. It is very difficult to give-up on a player we thought was worth drafting in the first place. If you are struggling, you should be dropping your questions or concerns in our FREE Discord channel. Don't be afraid of it, I'm over 50 and navigate it fairly well.
Injuries
Adam Schefter reports Buccaneers WR Emeka Egbuka (hamstring) is expected to undergo further testing on Tuesday to determine how much time he could miss. Buccaneers HC Todd Bowles said he is hopeful that Mike Evans (hamstring) will practice this week, then said that said Chris Godwin (fibula) will not play in Week 7 against the Lions. Bucky Irving will also remain out in Week 7.
Rams HC Sean McVay said Puka Nacua (ankle) is day-to-day.
This could be an overly optimistic take by McVay, but the real proof will be in the injury report.
Cowboys co-owner Stephen Jones said CeeDee Lamb (ankle) could play in Week 7 against the Commanders.
Raiders coach Pete Carroll said it “might be best for the long haul” to keep Brock Bowers (knee) out for Week 7.
Browns HC Kevin Stefanski said he did not have an update on David Njoku’s knee injury.
Njoku twice attempted to play through the knee injury he suffered in the second quarter before officially calling it quits early in the fourth quarter.
Rich Cimini reports Garrett Wilson “appears to have avoided a serious knee injury” in Week 6’s loss to the Broncos.
Cardinals coach Jonathan Gannon said Kyler Murray (foot) is “the starting quarterback” when he’s healthy.
Colts placed QB Anthony Richardson (eye) on injured reserve.
Rams coach Sean McVay said Blake Corum (ankle) is “day to day.”
Bengals HC Zac Taylor said Mike Gesicki (pectoral) will be out “for a while.”
Cowboys co-owner Stephen Jones said KaVontae Turpin (foot) could return in Week 7 against the Commanders.
Colts placed QB Anthony Richardson (eye) on injured reserve.
Old injury reminders
Chargers are placing Omarion Hampton (ankle) on IR, per Jim Harbaugh. He will miss at least the next 3 games. Hassan Haskins got the start for the Chargers in Week 6, but Kimani Vidal overtook the lead role. Whoever is playing better will end up with more time. It is entirely possible a third running back also gets involved, could be anything from Gus Edwards to Alvin Kamara. Someone will have value, but it will be messy.
Cardinals HC Jonathan Gannon said the team will monitor Kyler Murray’s foot throughout the week.
Broncos placed G Ben Powers (bicep) on injured reserve. Powers is a massive loss on the interior offensive line for an offense that derives its identity from the unit. The veteran guard is expected to miss the better part of the next two months as he heals from a torn bicep.
Vikings HC Kevin O’Connell said J.J. McCarthy (ankle) will practice following the team’s Week 6 bye.
Commanders coach Dan Quinn said he’s “optimistic” about Terry McLaurin (quad) for Week 6.
Chargers LT Joe Alt, who was carted off, had X-Rays that were negative, source says. The diagnosis is a high-ankle sprain, an MRI confirmed.
Schottenheimer: CeeDee Lamb (ankle) "trending in the right direction"; currently no plans to place him on IR.
Cedric Tillman is likely to miss several weeks with a hamstring injury.
Terry McLaurin: Commanders coach Dan Quinn said Monday that McLaurin (quadriceps) is among injured players who are "are trending in the right direction," JP Finlay of NBC Sports Washington reports.
RB James Conner (foot) was placed on injured reserve.
Running back Najee Harris went down with an Achilles injury and is likely out for the season.
