Fantasy Football Waiver Wire and Rest of Season Rankings- Week 9

Your fantasy football season is in make or break territory we are nearing the stretch run. The waiver offerings have been hit and miss so far this season, but it is time to make big moves. If you have gaps in your line-up or going to get hit hard by the bye week, don't be afraid to overpay for a 1 or 2 week fill-in. We are almost half-way through bye weeks so we should only have to navigate a few more weeks where we will be short players.

It's sad to say, but injuries do make the waiver wire more interesting. We are not injury vultures, we wish those that are injured the best of luck, we are just playing a game and are looking to optimize our chances of winning.

Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Adds

Players We Can Drop

When we make waiver claims most of the time we can easily determine who to add, but we struggle with which players to drop. It is very difficult to give-up on a player we thought was worth drafting in the first place. If you are struggling, you should be dropping your questions or concerns in our FREE Discord channel. Don't be afraid of it, I'm over 50 and navigate it fairly well.

Injuries and other updates:

Saquon Barkley groin injury not believed to be serious.

Cam Skattebo has a dislocated ankle and was taken to a local hospital immediately. Skattebo underwent emergency surgery on his ankle Sunday night and appears to be lost for the season following the injury. Tyrone Tracy is a MUST ADD if he is somehow available in your league.

Ravens HC John Harbaugh said he expects Lamar Jackson (hamstring) to play on TNF.

49ers coach Kyle Shanahan told reporters that while it's too early to tell this week for QB Brock Purdy, it's not a long-shot. "We'll see how he's doing on Wednesday", per @rapsheet.bsky.social.

The Cardinals have released Michael Carter, Bo Brack of GoPHNX.com reports.

He could easily be back on the practice squad tomorrow and playing on Monday Night. Teams do this kind of roster management gymnastics all the time.

Panthers coach Dave Canales said Bryce Young (ankle) logged an encouraging running session Monday and that the team is hopeful he will practice in some capacity Wednesday, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.

Free agent receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling plans to sign with the Steelers, per @nflfantasynews.bsky.social.

Marvin Mims placed in concussion protocol, per Troy Renck.

Devin Singletary seems set to move into the Giants' No. 2 RB role after Cam Skattebo suffered a season-ending ankle dislocation Sunday against Philadelphia, per Art Stapleton of northjersey.com.
