Fantasy Football Waiver Wire and Rest of Season Rankings- Week 12

Updated: 20 minutes ago

Your fantasy football season is in make or break territory as we begin the stretch run. The waiver offerings have been hit and miss so far this season, but it is time to make big moves. If you have gaps in your line-up or going to get hit hard by the bye week, don't be afraid to overpay for a 1 or 2 week fill-in. We are through most of the bye weeks so we should only have to navigate a few more weeks where we will be short players.

It's sad to say, but injuries do make the waiver wire more interesting. We are not injury vultures, we wish those that are injured the best of luck, we are just playing a game and are looking to optimize our chances of winning.

Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Adds

Players We Can Drop

When we make waiver claims most of the time we can easily determine who to add, but we struggle with which players to drop. It is very difficult to give-up on a player we thought was worth drafting in the first place. If you are struggling, you should be dropping your questions or concerns in our FREE Discord channel. Don't be afraid of it, I'm over 50 and navigate it fairly well.

Injuries and other updates:

Ja'Marr Chase has received a one-game suspension for unsportsmanlike conduct during Cincinnati's loss to the Steelers in Week 11, ruling him out for Sunday's matchup against the Patriots, Ian Rapoport reports. Chase is appealing the suspension, per Kelsey Conway of The Cincinnati Enquirer.

Packers HC Matt LaFleur said Josh Jacobs is dealing with a knee contusion.

When asked if there was a chance Jacobs could play in Week 12 against the Vikings, LaFleur said, “Potentially. We’ll see where he’s at.” Jacobs is not a candidate for injured reserve. Jacobs is reportedly dealing with a decent amount of swelling due to the hard blow dealt to his knee by the turf at MetLife Stadium.

Falcons placed QB Michael Penix (knee) on injured reserve.

According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, Penix aggravated a bone bruise and knee sprain he suffered earlier in the season, but also added, “there has been damage to the ACL, which could mean a full reconstruction.”

Falcons coach Raheem Morris said “it’s fair to say [the offense will] look different” with Kirk Cousins as the starter.

NFL Network’ Ian Rapoport reports Drake London suffered a sprained PCL in Week 11’s loss to the Panthers. There’s a good chance London misses more than just one game, but for now, we know he will be sidelined for Week 12 against the Saints.

Jaylen Warren said “I could have returned” when asked about the ankle injury he suffered in Week 11 against the Bengals. Warren was walking awfully gingerly on his ankle after going down in the third quarter of Sunday’s contest, so it’s a bit surprising to hear him say he believes he could have returned. Assuming that’s the case, we would expect Warren to have a chance to log some limited practice sessions this week, in hopes of playing in Week 12.

Ian Rapoport reports Aaron Rodgers (fractured wrist) will undergo tests to determine whether or not he can play in Week 12 against the Bears.

Jets HC Aaron Glenn has informed the team that Tyrod Taylor will start in Week 12 against the Ravens.

Texans HC DeMeco Ryans said C.J. Stroud’s (concussion) status for Week 12 against the Bills is uncertain.

Panthers coach Dave Canales said there was “a focused effort” to get Xavier Legette more targets on Sunday.

Bills TE Dalton Kincaid (hamstring) was listed as a DNP on Monday’s estimated practice report. Kincaid missed Week 11’s game due to his hamstring injury and could be at risk of missing Week 12 due to the short turnaround to prepare for Thursday night.

49ers HC Kyle Shanahan said the team will not open Brandon Aiyuk’s (knee) return window this week.

Browns HC Kevin Stefanski said Dillon Gabriel remains in concussion protocol.

NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo reports Lane Johnson suffered a Lisfranc injury in Week 11’s win over the Lions and will miss 4-6 weeks.

Previous Injuries and Notes to Remember

Bengals designated QB Joe Burrow (toe) for return from injured reserve.

Burrow will practice in a limited capacity this week and can be activated off injured reserve at any time. The Bengals have 21 days to officially activate Burrow from injured reserve or rule him out for the season, so there’s a good chance we could still be a few weeks away from playing on Sundays.

Buccaneers HC Todd Bowles said there is still no timetable for Bucky Irving’s (shoulder) return.

Rich Cimini reports Garrett Wilson will miss 3-4 weeks with a knee sprain.

Ian Rapoport reports Jackson Powers-Johnson’s ankle injury “could potentially end his season.” Powers-Johnson has started every game at right guard for the Raiders this season, earning a PFF grade of 63.8 while being one of the few bright spots of an underwhelming group. This is bad news for Ashton Jeanty.

Joe Alt will undergo season-ending ankle surgery, the Chargers announce. This is a severe downgrade for Herbert and the Chargers offense.

Commanders QB Jayden Daniels is expected to be sidelined indefinitely due to his dislocated left elbow, but it is uncertain whether his season is over, per sources. Commanders Head Coach, Dan Quinn said there's "no timetable" for Jayden Daniels' return.

Tests confirmed that Packers TE Tucker Kraft did in fact tear his ACL as feared, per source

Jim Harbaugh said he does not expect Omarion Hampton’s activation window to be opened until after the Week 12 bye.

Vikings RB Aaron Jones' right shoulder is "sore," Kevin O'Connell says, and it's "positive news early on" about his prognosis. They'll see if Jones can ramp up his activity over the course of the week.

The 49ers will NOT open up Brandon Aiyuk’s practice window this week.

Kyler Murray (foot) placed on IR, he will miss at least 4 games. Jacoby Brissett is in line to make at least more four starts while Kyler Murray (foot) is on injured reserve.

Cardinals coach Jonathan Gannon said Wednesday that Trey Benson (knee) is "doing well" but isn't ready to practice, Theo Mackie of The Arizona Republic reports.
